  • Baking Occlusion

    ballocc.jpgJust a short tutorial on baking occlusion in maya using bake sets and mental ray, click on the thumbnail for the three step tutorial.

    If anything seems unclear or poorly worded, give a shout out in the comments and I’ll do my best to clear it up.

    On another note, this method works very good for baking occlusion on highpoly objects without UV’s as well, just choose to bake it to a Vertex Bake Set instead of a Texture Bake Set.

  • Mecha sculpt

    Zbrush sculpt

    I was browsing conceptart.org a while ago and came across this great concept image by Andrew Ley, which I saved for later use.

    Found it on a pendrive a couple of days back and decided to give it a go in Zbrush, just to see how it would go. This model is sculpted from a basic sphere more or less, so it will need to be re-topologized and cleaned next.
